More about the role This is an exciting job opportunity for an Engineering Manager with Intelligent Lighting Controls (ILC) and Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting. This is an onsite role in Eden Prairie, MN . Manage a multidisciplinary team including hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineers; mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Develop products based on specifications from Product Management and lead end-to-end design and development while continuously innovating and iterating to meet cost targets, enhance manufacturability, improve quality, facilitate test requirements, minimize risks, and ensure on-time delivery. Collaborate cross functionally to deliver high-quality, manufacturable, market-relevant products. Implement new technologies and identify opportunities to utilize connected lighting technologies as part of the Internet of Things (IoT); protect intellectual property through patent disclosures. Resolve field, quality, and production issues and implement ECNs (Engineering Change Notice) and ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) to document changes to products. Create and maintain detailed assembly and test instructions for production, and monitor design, assembly, and maintenance of test fixtures at contract manufacturers.   • Create and maintain detailed assembly and test instructions for production, and monitor design, assembly, and maintenance of test fixtures at contract manufacturers
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related
  • 5+ years of work experience in engineering leadership (managing direct reports) and product development in a rigorous process driven environment that employs standard work, root cause analysis, and LEAN/6-Sigma tools
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, firmware development, and electronic product design
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, PCB design, and product compliance testing
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with product management, procurement, and production teams
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.
  • Experience with lighting controls and/or building automation, RS485, DALI, DMX, and 0-10V lighting control protocols
  • Knowledge of software integration with cloud or mobile apps
  • Experience with CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), firmware platforms (e.g., STM32, IAR, CubeMX2, JIRA, HxD, Notepad++), and version control systems (e.g., Git, BitBucket)
