StubHub is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact organization responsible for building the platform, data systems, and services that power the live event experience for millions of users. In this role, you will be accountable for delivering strategic business and customer outcomes through rigorous execution, organizational clarity, and exceptional team leadership. Your mandate is to raise the bar, ensuring technical excellence, growing a top 10% talent bench, and maximizing impact at scale. About the Team: The Consumer Sell team builds technology that allows fans from across the globe to confidently sell tickets to the millions of worldwide events on the StubHub platform. Fan sellers come in many shapes - from the fiercely loyal season ticket holder to the one-off concert goer who can no longer attend. The team creates consumer-facing products that allow all these millions of fan sellers to list and price their tickets, including using pricing algorithms and automation to create listings. The team is building products that make StubHub the destination for any seller across the globe. Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY

  • Champion operational excellence: Drive efficient execution, system reliability, and continuous improvement across your organization. Establish durable processes and standards that scale with growth.
  • Model constructive candor: Set the tone for direct, transparent communication. Raise tradeoffs early, invite dissent, and ensure critical decisions are grounded in data and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Foster team health at every level: Create psychologically safe, inclusive environments that encourage feedback, growth, and ownership. Leave teams stronger and more empowered than you found them.
  • Steward technical quality: Oversee architectural and technical direction across teams. Ensure systems are robust, maintainable, and aligned with long-term business needs.
  • Partner across the company: Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data to influence roadmaps, resolve cross-functional blockers, and drive end-to-end delivery of business-critical initiatives.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including senior leadership of production systems and critical software.
  • 4+ years of experience managing managers or leading large engineering teams.
  • Strong technical depth in backend, infrastructure, data systems, or APIs (e.g., Java, Python, C++).
  • Proven success in driving execution, solving complex problems with data, and managing organizational complexity.
  • Skilled in navigating ambiguity, setting strategy, and operating with urgency and precision.
  • Experienced in building inclusive cultures rooted in trust, autonomy, and accountability.
