About The Position

The Engineering Manager/City Engineer for the City of Elk Grove will oversee the design engineering operations within the Development Services Department. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a directly related field.
• Five years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience.
• Two years of lead or supervisory experience.
• Valid registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the State of California.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Division of the Development Services Department.
• Supervise supervisory, professional, technical, and administrative support staff.
• Oversee the review, evaluation, and approval of complex building construction plans and engineering reports.
• Recommend changes in codes to resolve design and interpretation problems.
• Provide technical review and recommendations on code modifications.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the assigned division team.
• Coordinate key programs/projects with other City divisions and external agencies.
