The Engineering Manager for ASCO Power PCS Modernization is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end project engineering scope related to the Brownfield Modernization of Power Control Systems. This position is ideally located at either the West Chester, OH or East Haven, CT Services Modernization facility, but there is potential for remote work. The role involves ensuring that financial objectives are met, driving the PCS Modernization strategy, managing talent, resolving day-to-day operational issues, and promoting teamwork among internal and external customers. A strong emphasis is placed on safety awareness and compliance, which the manager must promote among their direct reports. In this role, the Engineering Manager will lead a team of 10-12 engineers specializing in Electrical, Controls, and Mechanical engineering to support the PCS Modernization efforts. Key responsibilities include executing modernization projects, interviewing, hiring, mentoring, and motivating team members, as well as facilitating the development and training of engineering personnel. The manager will also be responsible for managing the implementation of all assigned projects, ensuring quality, professionalism, and timely responsiveness while adhering to estimated hours as quoted. The Engineering Manager will evaluate and update project engineering procedures and standards as necessary, support production operations with the build, wiring, and testing of PCS solutions in compliance with customer requirements, specifications, and industry standards. Effective communication with internal and external customers regarding technical aspects, promised delivery times, and necessary adjustments to minimize production interruptions is crucial. Staying abreast of new developments and releases of technology to apply to projects and processes is also a key aspect of this role. Additionally, the manager will contribute to strategic planning for the engineering and overall services group, work closely with procurement, production, quality, and field operations on project and process improvements, and assist sales and quotations personnel with project feasibility and cost estimates to develop a customer base through superior service and technical expertise.
