About The Position
Grata for Datasite is the leading private market dealmaking platform. We make it easy to find, research, and engage with private companies while powering end‑to-end M&A business development workflows . Our platform delivers the most comprehensive, accurate , and searchable proprietary data on private companies, their financials, and th eir owners. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team building the next generation o f agentic workflows for financial professionals. T his role sits at the intersection of AI, product discovery, and scalable platform engineering, and will play a critical role in moving Grata into a new frontier of business development tools. Grata is a hybrid company, with in-office collaboration in NYC on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Requirements
- Experience leading engineering teams that build agentic or autonomous workflows .
- Strong comfort with Python and React in a full‑stack environment.
- Experience designing and operating queue‑based, event‑driven, or asynchronous systems .
- Proficient on AI driven coding and scalable, modular applications w ith a strong grasp of architectural patterns, reliability, and engineering trade‑offs.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with ETL and data processing systems , such as: Databricks or Spark‑based pipelines Kafka, Pulsar, or similar event streaming platforms Airflow, dbt , or workflow orchestration tools
- Experience working with AI/ML‑adjacent systems or data‑heavy platforms.
- Exposure to cloud‑ native architectures and scalable backend services.
Responsibilities
- Own the outcomes of your team's efforts by ensuring successful product deliveries, including incremental value creation, maintaining system performance, and sharing in commercial wins.
- Coach engineers on growth plans and promotions using established engineering pathways.
- Establish and evolve healthy team practices, including planning, execution, quality, and operational excellence.
- Represent Engineering in cross‑functional ceremonies and planning with Product, Data, AI, and Design partners.
- Balance near‑term delivery with long-term technical health, identifying and managing technical debt.
- Translate product and technical vision into clear execution plans and measurable outcomes.
- Foster a culture of high ownership, psychological safety, and sustainable pace.
