About The Position

This position will provide leadership for strategic and tactical maintenance and engineering activities for the Marion, Ohio operation. This position is tasked with implementation and execution, with strong reliability and cost control. The Maintenance & Engineering Manager will lead, direct, and respond to the needs of the organization and its Employees, while driving actions for success. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Operations and may include other activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, chemical, or other related degree required.
  • At least 5 years in leading maintenance and engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the Sika SAFE Program.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment in accordance with the Sika Housekeeping policy.
  • Display active leadership in advancing the Sika SAFE culture in Marion pursuing the objectives of zero injuries and Employee engagement.
  • Attain annual safety goals through a solid understanding of safety management as well as the ability to convey and enforce safety rules and procedures.
  • Ensure implementation and evolution of safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Support safety meetings, oversee safety-related training, implement and enforce safety guidelines, participate in accident investigations, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and programs.
  • Support the operation assets and equipment in accordance with Sika programs, policies and standards.
  • Participate in process improvements and problem-solving, using tools such as ISO, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
  • Design predictive and preventative maintenance of assets and equipment to ensure integrity and reliability.
  • Oversee maintenance and engineering staff, prioritization of projects and repair tasks.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine root causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems, and institute corrective actions related to machine capabilities as required.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of capital expense projects and support other department CAPEX planning.
  • Assist with managing contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements including Safety, Environmental, and insurance requirements.
  • Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide regular reports of reliability and downtime.
  • Perform other work and projects as required by the Director of Operations.
