Summary of Position: Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise in the OT hardware and infrastructure to lead overall optimization through application of technology, implementation of best practice standards, building capability within the salary & hourly teams, and driving cost savings programs within the Plant. In this role, you will be responsible for: Site point person for the OT Support Center (OTSC) Coordination of communication from the OTSC to site engineers, technicians, and plant leadership (drive ownership down to asset engineer level – educate & delegate) Drive accountability at the plants to meet OT requirements. Deployment and on-going support of OTbase, a tool and platform that is used for the asset management of the OT environment. Requires training others and is the point person for raising issues back to OTSC Facilitate the awareness and usage of digital tools to support OT environment, e.g., Splunk Participates in project reviews and sets direction and ensures that appropriate resources are involved (i.e., DTS/MOSAIC and plant engineers) Infrastructure planning for key upgrades, thinking longer-term benefits and aligning technology solutions, consistent with sector & regional standards Security / training – educating plant resources and ensuring compliance with cyber security standards and policies, including on-boarding of new EEs, electrical or instrument reliability techs MOSAIC infrastructure obsolescence / asset management (the controls portion would be the plant capital vs. the infrastructure would need to be driven from the OT side working in conjunction) Keep connected with industrial automation control systems and the impact to the OT environment (drives, controllers, electrical devices, safety systems, power distribution, etc.) - Aligning to standards for implementation Provide leadership by example in corporate safety, quality, regulatory, product safety and sustainability. Support the application of the sector Quality Management Process in all assignments and responsibilities. Ensure that all elements of the corporate Human Resources Development and Diversity policy are fully supported as appropriate for the position. Manage self in accordance with the K-C Ways of Working, utilize LEAN principles in the development and management of work and drive change within the organization as a role model for process improvement. Protect and defend K-C proprietary technology, products, and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets. Locate existing, internal or external, or novel technology solutions for process and product needs 3 – 5 years from commercialization that enable realization of business unit strategies. Recommend strategies to protect novel technology solutions to sustain identified advantage in market. Apply engineering principles, standards and procedures in the execution of projects and programs to advance process innovation. Experienced working with external technical service providers and suppliers. Maintain technical and scientific expertise in an area of technology and communicate impact of developments on Kimberly-Clark. Coach and teach team members to increase technical understanding and effective communication of technical accomplishments and to promote growth of leadership qualities. Implement the documentation and report of unit work as required by KC policy, effective communication, protection of proprietary information, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Effective communication skills with the ability to discuss technical issues in a business environment (plant technical and operations resources, suppliers, management, etc.). Communicate appropriately with all customers, conducting all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity and honesty to build an unimpeachable business reputation.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering or related discipline and 10+ years industrial experience.
  • OR another equivalent combination of education and experience with a solid background of technical knowledge and experience combined with a demonstrated track record in leading and directing a technical team and projects that successfully meet business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Frequently a recognized expert in a key part of the K-C proprietary knowledge base.
