Through the 11-week summer internship program, you will have the opportunity to work and learn in real, impactful roles. The program dates are June 1, 2026 to August 14, 2026. As a Process & Continuous Improvement Engineering Intern, you’ll work within our Manitowoc manufacturing facility to optimize production processes, improve equipment reliability, and drive Lean/CI activities. You’ll analyze data, solve problems, lead improvement events, and help support the rollout of the Kerry Plant System (KPS). This role will be in our Manitowoc, Wisconsin plant.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university, in Chemical, Biochemical, Industrial or Mechanical engineering related field, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 - May 2027.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate professionally to all levels of an organization.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the U.S. - Sponsorships will not be provided for early career roles now or in the future.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for this internship opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot production issues and support root-cause analysis
  • Improve process capability, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and validations
  • Collect and analyze line data to recommend and implement improvements
  • Reduce variation and waste using engineering and continuous improvement principles
  • Support CI initiatives with data collection, time studies, and workflow analysis
  • Assist with standard work, visual management, and documentation
  • Lead 5S activities and cross-functional improvement events
  • Facilitate FMEA sessions and help track KPIs
  • Support rollout of KPS (Kerry Plant System) playbooks
  • Lead daily Tier 2 production meetings and present findings to CI leadership
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and CI teams
