About The Position

An Engineering Intern is an entry level position in the engineering department performing professional engineering work related to the design and construction of various public works projects under the directions and supervision of experienced engineers.

Requirements

High school diploma plus currently enrolled in Civil Engineering program from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of basic civil engineering principles and practices as applied to public works administration, design and construction.
Ability to perform engineering computations and review existing engineering plans and studies.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, modeling and other design-aid software applications.
Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing plans, estimates and specifications for the construction of public works projects.
Compile and review engineering data for reports and studies.
Assist in resolution of engineering problems.
Perform field measurements and inspections of public works projects.
Develop and/or maintain databases, spreadsheets and reports to monitor performance of engineering projects.
Perform other related duties as required.
