Summit County is recruiting a Civil Engineering Intern to help with the Engineering Department’s workload this summer. This is a non-benefited position and will begin May 2026 and continue through early Fall. Work schedule may vary but will not exceed 40 hours per week. Applicants must have a valid Utah driver’s license. Ideal candidates will be currently enrolled in a College of Engineering, specifically studying Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Preference will be given to those who have completed a class or have experience in surveying, design, construction, and/or maintenance of transportation systems. Responsibilities will include a wide variety of Engineering disciplines and actives such as plan reviews and site inspections for residential and commercial projects, stormwater inspections, traffic counts and transportation studies, and floodplain reviews. Qualified applicants will be knowledgeable in general Civil Engineering Principles, computer and Microsoft programs, and be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
