About The Position

Hi, I’m Luis, looking for a Summer 2026 Engineering Intern. Who Am I? I am hardworking technical leader who manages daily lab operations, staff, equipment, and quality control for materials testing. I enjoy support new ideas to improve our daily tasks. What Do We Do? Business Unit: Dynamet Florida Laboratory Dynamet FL Laboratory performs physical, mechanical, and chemical tests of Titanium, crucial for industries from aerospace to medical implants/devices. Ongoing Projects Material Testing Heat treatments Calibrations Certifications Interpreting specs and standards Your Role as an Intern You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting the following tasks: Implement a system to control Laboratory consumables. Create unique part numbers (barcodes or not), set defined reorder points (min/max levels) and track usage. Starting with detailed spreadsheets tracking item, part #, supplier, location, quantity used, date ordered, and ROP. Create defined storage locations for each item with identifications in the cabinets. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Management or related field
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Willing and able to work on-site at our Clearwater, FL location.
  • Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter’s government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Interns who must commute to work from outside the immediate Clearwater, FL area (over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $2,400 (less applicable taxes) as excessive commute allowance.
  • Interns who choose to temporarily relocate from outside the immediate Clearwater, FL area (moving over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $4,800 (less applicable taxes) as a housing allowance.
