About The Position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated and exceptional engineering student to join our Huntsville, AL office as an Engineering Intern.

This position is a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of aerospace innovation, contributing to the planning and execution of hypersonic flight tests alongside a distinguished team of Flight Test Engineers and Analysts. The intern will play a critical role in advancing cutting-edge hypersonic technologies, gaining valuable access to collaboration with leading experts from the Department of War and Industry while providing unparalleled exposure to significant projects shaping the future of national defense and aerospace engineering.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in engineering with a focus on aerospace, mechanical, or systems disciplines.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for most MTSI positions.

Nice To Haves

• Proficient with MATLAB, Python, C++ and/or other programming languages
• Understanding of Cameo Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or similar software
• Experience with Confluence and Jira collaboration tools
• Familiarity with MS Project and Milestones platforms

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of hypersonic flight tests, including mission development, planning, and coordination.
• Support data acquisition, processing, and analysis for test activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians on the development, integration, and troubleshooting of test systems and hardware.
• Contribute to technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Participate in engineering reviews and technical meetings.
• Perform research and analysis to support performance evaluations and technical assessments.
