About The Position

Engineering Internship (Summer 2026) Position Summary Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking highly motivated Engineering Interns to engage in a summer internship assignment across several Plug Power locations. These interns will be responsible for assisting various Engineering disciplines in a wide variety of engineering initiatives and projects. As an Intern, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products. All roles will focus on the successful completion of a technical project or process improvement, and documentation and presentation of results at the end of the internship. Disciplines Include: Mechanical engineering Electrical engineering Chemical Systems Design Manufacturing Service engineering Locations Include: Latham, NY Rochester, NY Spokane, WA

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Background/experience with statistical analysis
  • Possess solid hands on approach to problem-solving
  • Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional data analysis and presentation skills
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Internship experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of all Plug Power products
  • Work with senior level engineers and management to interpret and analyze data
  • Assist in developing engineering processes with guidance from senior level engineers and management
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to sufficiently make minor repairs as necessary
  • Ability to independently set up experiments and monitor progress
  • Understand engineering concepts and how to appropriately apply them in day to day projects
  • Ability to critically analyze data in terms of system performance and reliability
  • Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
