About The Position

Duties and Responsibilities Review contract specifications and perform basic design modifications. Ability to perform basic structural, mechanical and naval architecture design calculations. Develop material take-offs and weight estimates for all phases of vessel design. Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment. Perform engineering change processes as necessary to support existing products. Interact with project engineers in support of project requirements. Categorize a wide arrangement of vendor furnished information. Generate and scan prints. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication (i.e., verbal and written) andleadership skills and possess a solution-oriented mindset. Must have a basic understanding of overall vessel design criteria, including ability toperform hull form development, scantling calculations, stability analyses, weightestimates. Familiarity with federal regulations, international rules and classification society rulessuch as, USCG, SOLAS, and ABS. Computer aided drafting skills (AutoCAD). Technical writing skills. Competency with Microsoft Office Tools and Software. Working knowledge of GHS, or other related stability software. Education and/or Experience Must be actively enrolled in seeking an Engineering Degree (BS/MS/PhD) from anaccredited university. Candidates must be in at least third year of engineering studies.
