About The Position

84 Lumber is looking for a few mechanical, industrial, and structural engineering interns this summer. The interns will assist the team in various construction, construction accounting, and maintenance capacities. As an Engineering Intern on our real estate & development team, you will collaborate with all members of the team and will have the opportunity to work with other departments at Team Headquarters. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in facilities maintenance, construction, and construction accounting and should be prepared to enter a fast-paced work environment. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand, and maintain our current procedures. Responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a related Business or Construction degree preferred.
  • Current enrollment in a related Business or Construction degree preferred.
  • Support the real estate and development team in daily administrative tasks.
  • Organize, maintain, and track assets and maintenance contracts.
  • Learn and utilize repairs and maintenance digital platform.
  • Learn and utilize construction management digital platform.
  • Assist with estimating, quantity take offs and sourcing contractors.
  • Exposure to construction budgets and cost coding.
  • Creating construction schedules.
  • Creating construction contracts, purchase orders and change orders.
  • Processing contractor invoices and progress payments.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
  • Day-to-day interactions with field personnel as well as internal department personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
