About The Position

At Weiler, our engineering internships are designed to provide students pursuing an engineering degree with meaningful, hands-on experience while developing skills for a successful career. We look for individuals who demonstrate mechanical aptitude, engagement, curiosity, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities. Our program offers a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, while building a foundation for future design and engineering work. Interns experience the full spectrum of engineering at Weiler—from assembly to design—ensuring a well-rounded understanding of how ideas become reality. Program Structure First Summer: Hands-On Experience Interns begin in Assembly, working directly on Weiler equipment. This phase builds practical skills and a deep understanding of tools, processes, and manufacturing operations. It’s an invaluable opportunity to discover whether a hands-on engineering environment is the right fit for you. Subsequent Summers: Design and Project Work Interns transition to design and project-based assignments. While working on computer-based tasks, interns are encouraged to stay connected to the plant floor to see the real-world impact of their work. This expectation continues for full-time engineers at Weiler, reinforcing our commitment to hands-on, practical, applied engineering. Our internships serve as a paid, immersive experience that also functions as a working interview for both you and Weiler. You’ll gain insight into our engineering culture and environment, while we evaluate your potential for a full-time role. Students entering their final year of college may be considered for internships that combine hands-on and office-based work within the same summer. Preference is given to students with multiple years of school remaining, as this allows for continued growth and development through multiple summers. Prospective applicants should note that Weiler does not coordinate living arrangements. Interns are responsible for finding housing close to our facility.
