About The Position

Position Purpose: This internship position supports the New Incineration Project by doing field validation versus the Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and assisting in the development of the Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures for the isolation of hazardous energy from equipment. Working collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams, the intern will help create an organized, easily accessible digital library of Lockout / Tagout procedures. The position provides hands-on experience in the process of isolating the hazardous energy from equipment.

Requirements

  • Pursuing degree in Engineering, Safety, or related field with similar coursework fundamentals.
  • Fundamental understanding of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and the process of isolating hazardous energy from equipment.
  • Ability to read a P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, interest in industrial automation, and ability to read technical documentation
  • Strong Computer Skills (preferably with Chromebook)
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to Work Well with Others
  • Willingness to Learn New Skills and Technologies
  • Spreadsheet Proficiency (GoogleSheets and/or Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to Follow Detailed, Complete Instructions
  • Motivated and Collaborative Team Player

Nice To Haves

  • College Coursework in engineering familiarized with instrumentation and/or maintenance (preferred)
  • Experience with P&ID’s and LOTO
  • PDF Editing and Management Knowledge (preferred)
