About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Engineering Intern – Summer 2026 to join our Richland, WA office. YOUR ROLE Perform engineering design reviews, including reviewing technical drawings, and design documents, as well as summarizing findings in design review reports. Attend design review meetings, take detailed notes, and document key decisions. Conduct basic engineering analyses and calculations to support design evaluations. Assist with cost estimating, including researching prices for equipment based on specifications. Assists with document production and control including PEP’s, schedules, minutes, field reports and presentations Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations. Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations. Requirements

  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or mechanical engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing to work a 4/10 schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred
  • Experience with structural analysis software is a bonus
