About The Position

The Engineering Design Technician is responsible for supporting product design activities including developing new designs and/or improving upon the performance and design of existing products. Support the R&D team by participating in design activities, building prototypes, and testing design concepts. Provide drafting/modeling and document management support. Participate in prototype builds and install windows and doors for testing. This job is located in Warroad, MN. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred.
  • Hands-on mechanical skills desired (wood crafts), and working knowledge of tools such as chop saw, table saw, drill press, etc. required.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Displays a positive demeaner, actively participates in a team environment, and understands needs of other cross-functional groups

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and 3D CAD Modeling software (Inventor is ideal) are preferred.
  • Window and door related experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Document Management: Create and track ECN’s (Electronic Change Notices), and update/support drawings, models and documents using 3D modeling software. Maintain project print planners, create and review redlines, and ensure prints meet drafting standards.
  • Product Installation and Prototype Support: Build, install and test prototype units. Develop working prototype concepts for feasibility analysis. Understand installation and test criteria needed to meet product certification test standards.
