About The Position

The Engineering Co-op assists the engineering staff engaged in the development of technical solutions for new products and improvements to existing products by performing tests, documenting, and interpreting results.

This co-op is for an individual who has completed their freshman or sophomore undergraduate year and is 100% onsite in our Newbury, OH plant. The hours are Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week. The successful candidate would ideally work at least three (3) semesters at Kinetico. The co-op will begin Fall 2024. A pay increase for each subsequent semester returned is available.

Requirements

• Currently working towards Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and desire to collaborate with others and work in a cross functional team setting.
• Interest in component and system design, preferably for consumer products.
• Good mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach.
• Experience with design processes and tools such as engineering calculations, stack-up analysis, DFMEA, DFM; CAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and dissembles test units, adheres to and monitors testing protocols, measures parts, and documents results.
• Performs special projects within scope of engineering capability related to product development initiatives.
• Documents design specifications using 3D CAD models and tolerance drawings.
• Validates final designs through laboratory testing to meet product, quality, and safety specifications.
• Analyzes and presents results of experimentation to cross functional teams.
