About The Position
Skillz is the first publicly-traded mobile eSports platform that hosts billions of casual mobile gaming tournaments for millions of players worldwide, revolutionizing the gaming industry by fostering social competition and helping developers build multi-million dollar franchises. Skillz enables real-money activity in games, provides operational support, and connects players through fair, enjoyable, and meaningful competition. The company is seeking Software engineering co-ops to work on its gaming platform, utilizing technologies such as React Native, Java, Go, and React. This Co-Op program is designed for current graduate and undergraduate students who are set to graduate within one year of starting the program. It is scheduled to begin in June 2026 and run through December 2026. The position requires relocation to Las Vegas for the duration of the program, with an in-office commitment of 5 days a week and 40 hours per week. Flexibility will be provided to accommodate any school courses during the program.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with JavaScript and React
- Exposure to mobile development (iOS/Android) and REST APIs
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to performance and UX
Nice To Haves
- GPA 3.5+ preferred
- React Native preferred
- Project portfolio (school or personal)
- Prior internship/co-op a plus
- Interest in gaming is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Add new features to our gaming platform, enabling competitions, tournaments, and social features for players worldwide.
- Collaborate with teammates who care about building phenomenal products.
- Design, plan, and implement player-facing features defined by our Product team.
- Take responsibility for the stability and quality of the features you build, and assist in rolling them out to our developers.
- Deploy continuously integrated updates to thousands of games and millions of players.
