Federal Equipment Company is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our team. As an Intern, you will be taking on impactful work while engaging in a dynamic learning experience and working side by side with our team. Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, reference verification, post-offer drug testing and background check Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Must have access to reliable transportation Essential Job Functions: Determine design parameters with Engineering Manager, Project Engineer and Sales Engineer in the kick-off meeting, if applicable Writes advance purchase requisitions for long delivery items. Write all additional purchase requisitions required for each job and submit all requisitions to Engineering Manager Review proposal, pre-engineering form and customer specs. Advise the Engineering Manager or Project Engineer of any problems Advise Engineering Manager or Project Engineer of any design problems and work with them on possible solutions Prepare detailed drawings Prepare shop order forms Run blueprints as required for customer approval, shop fabrication, field installation, purchasing, etc. Keep accurate time records and submit to Engineering Manager at the end of each workweek Observe shop progress daily and advise Engineering Manager or Project Engineer as to any problems that exist or possible problems that might exist Work with Engineering Manager or Project Engineer as requested to solve equipment installation problems Other duties as assigned Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements Strong organizational, project management and inter-personal skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to communicate well with both management, office staff, and craft labor on the shop floor Previous experience leading teams Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Works well in a fast-faced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision Proven ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels Excellent organizational, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills What is expected from an intern?
