About The Position

The Engineering Change Administrator / Mechanical Design Checker at PsiQuantum manages the lifecycle of product changes (ECRs/ECOs), coordinating between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure accuracy in designs and documentation. Key duties include initiating, tracking, and implementing revisions, reviewing the impact on production and inventory, and maintaining accurate records. This dual role also requires reviewing technical drawings, 3D models, and designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards such as ASME Y14.5 and ISO. Key responsibilities include checking Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ensuring manufacturability, and verifying dimensions. Ideal candidates require at least 2+ years of experience, CAD proficiency, and high attention to detail. PsiQuantum's mission is to build the first useful quantum computers, leveraging silicon photonics and advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The company has government-funded projects in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois, and also develops algorithms and software for commercial applications with leading Fortune 500 companies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience: Previous experience in document control, manufacturing, or engineering administration.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and/or PLM software.
  • Proficiency in CAD software
  • GD&T expertise per ASME Y14.5-2018).
  • Excellent communication skills to identify & communicate design flaws.
  • High level of accuracy in managing part numbers, revision levels, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Systems Engineering or a relevant discipline acceptable with relevant skills.
  • Background in design & drafting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Control and track Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from initiation to closure.
  • Maintain, update, and manage revision levels for drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and specifications.
  • Facilitate reviews, impact analyses (cost, schedule), and approvals with engineering, procurement, and production departments.
  • Input and maintain accurate data within Arena Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Verifies 2D/3D drawings for errors, dimensioning accuracy, and adherence to company/industry standards.
  • Works with engineers and designers to correct discrepancies and provide feedback.
