About The Position

The DC Bonder will be responsible for installation and maintenance of rail bonds, impedance bonds, structure grounds, and the negative return system outside substations using gas or exothermic welding or mechanical fasteners; and fabrication of equipment, etc. in the shop that may need welding or other fastening methods; paperwork related to the position and inventory procedures related to the position. This position is subject to emergency after-hours call-out, and assignment to overtime. Perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read schematics.
• Able to lift, carry and move up to 150 lbs with the assistance of another crew member.
• Experience with oxygen/acetylene gas welding preferred.
• Able to obtain CDL license or permit within 60 days after hiring.
• Able to pass the Metra/MOW Rules examination within 1 year of hiring and the Metra Roadway Workers Rules with 30 days.
