About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate to support infrastructure and content hosting operations for the Marketing Technology team within Consumer Technology. This position sits within Consumer Technology (CT) and is tightly aligned with the broader Infrastructure organization, which delivers the enterprise‑wide technology foundations that support Wells Fargo’s global footprint. In this role, you will specifically work with the Marketing Content Management product and perform content hosting and infrastructure strategy and oversight tasks as part of an Agile delivery team. You will help execute reverse proxy updates, validate routing and security configurations, and support the stability and performance of web servers, firewalls, load balancers, and secure network paths. Working alongside senior engineers, you will contribute to operational run procedures, documentation, incident investigation, and continuous improvement efforts. You will also collaborate with Infrastructure partners, business stakeholders, and external vendors who host web content microsites and multiple Wells Fargo Line of Businesses such as Credit Card, Consumer, Small & Business Banking and Home Lending. This entry‑level position is an ideal opportunity for early‑career technologists looking to build a strong foundation in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, and enterprise middleware while gaining experience in automation, reliability, and operational excellence at scale. Requirements

  • 6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • Hands‑on experience working with web or application middleware technologies (e.g., Apache HTTP Server, NGINX, IIS), shown through labs, class projects, or early job/internship tasks such as updating configs or validating service status.
  • Experience completing runbook‑driven tasks, such as following step‑by‑step procedures to apply configuration updates, validate environments, or assist with troubleshooting.
  • Experience reviewing or analyzing basic web connectivity issues (e.g., DNS lookups, URL routing checks, HTTP status validation) through labs, coursework, or internship troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals—such as load balancers, firewalls, routing paths, or SSL/TLS concepts—demonstrated through academic learning, certification coursework, or hands‑on practice.
  • Experience using ticketing, documentation, or workflow tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence) to log issues, follow change requests, or document findings for class or internship projects.
  • Ability to create or update technical documentation, such as troubleshooting notes, configuration summaries, or procedural steps, as part of academic, internship, or project work.
  • Exposure to Agile team environments, demonstrated by participation in stand‑ups, sprints, or collaborative group projects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical partners, ask clarifying questions, and escalate issues appropriately during labs, internships, or team projects.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning large, complex enterprise environments, including applications, infrastructure, networks, and security components—shown through coursework, certifications, labs, or hands‑on practice.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine configuration and operational tasks that support reverse proxy environments, including web servers, load balancers, secure networks, and firewall‑related activities.
  • Help maintain hosting configurations and assets for microsites and content management systems across multiple business lines (Credit Card, Consumer, Small Business Banking, Home Lending, etc.).
  • Participate in incident triage, assist with troubleshooting web connectivity issues, and help document findings for future reference.
  • Follow established runbooks to assist with updates, small configuration changes, and environment validations.
  • Support testing of infrastructure changes, deployments, and upgrades to ensure proper functionality and compliance with standards.
  • Follow secure configuration practices, change management procedures, and required infrastructure policies.
  • Work with internal infrastructure teams and external hosting vendors under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross‑functional partners to support delivery goals and operational stability.
