About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate – DevOps Automation to support engineering teams within our DevOps – Engineering Acceleration organization. This group focuses on improving how platforms are built, delivered, and maintained across Consumer Technology, enabling faster, more reliable, and more consistent engineering outcomes. You will contribute to automation, configuration consistency, and reliable infrastructure delivery under the guidance of senior engineers. In this role, you will assist with infrastructure automation, pipeline development, configuration standardization, and DevOps tooling that supports platform delivery across Consumer Technology. You will work hands‑on with technologies such as Python, Go, Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, RESTful APIs, and modern SDLC practices. You will also learn how to enhance engineering environments, improve provisioning workflows, refactor code for stability, and support vulnerability remediation and compliance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for early‑career engineers to build foundational skills in DevOps engineering, automation, platform enablement, cloud‑aligned engineering practices, and modern software delivery patterns, while learning directly from experienced engineers and technical leaders across Consumer Technology. You will also participate in the Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program — a two‑year development program that runs alongside your full-time experience. CODE is designed for recent grads, coding bootcamp alumni and individuals with hands-on technical experience looking to break into tech. No four‑year degree is required. Requirements

  • 6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Wells Fargo only considers candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who do not require work visa sponsorship now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.
  • The selected candidate for this role must be able to begin employment by May 13, 2026, in a full‑time capacity.
  • This position is required to work from the designated posted office location and must be able to meet all expectations of the current hybrid work schedule, including regular in‑office attendance as defined by the team and program requirements.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ months of hands‑on experience writing code in at least one programming language (Python or Go), demonstrated through academic projects, labs, or internship deliverables.
  • Experience designing, consuming, or testing RESTful APIs, demonstrated through class assignments, labs, or project work using tools like Postman, curl, or custom scripts.
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub workflows, including branching, merging, and submitting pull requests as part of academic, team, or personal projects.
  • Hands‑on experience with automation or Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible, Crossplane), demonstrated through building templates, scripts, or pipeline tasks.
  • Understanding of configuration automation concepts such as modules, roles, or reusable blueprints, shown through coursework or applied project components.
  • Experience writing small utilities, CLI tools, or automation scripts using Python or Go, demonstrated through labs, hackathon work, or portfolio projects.
  • Familiarity with container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift) through hands‑on labs, running local clusters, or deploying sample workloads.
  • Exposure to observability or logging tools—such as metrics, dashboards, or log analysis—demonstrated through class labs or troubleshooting exercises.
  • Experience creating or using automated image pipelines (Packer, Chainguard) or contributing to shared/internal/open‑source repositories.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture fundamentals (hybrid, private, or public cloud such as Azure, GCP, AWS), demonstrated through coursework, labs, or cloud sandbox environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, managing email and calendars in Outlook, and building presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to modernizing infrastructure delivery through automated and standardized DevOps engineering practices.
  • Assist in designing, maintaining, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines that enable consistent infrastructure builds and provisioning workflows.
  • Help develop reusable configuration modules, automation components, and engineering templates to support consistency across Consumer Technology.
  • Support maintenance of enterprise image standards, including version updates, configuration tracking, and validation tasks.
  • Participate in improving infrastructure lifecycle processes, including compliance checks, patching support, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Collaborate with Production Support, Enterprise Infrastructure, Developer Platforms, and application teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Work with RESTful APIs that support infrastructure automation, configuration workflows, and internal developer tools.
  • Support internal engineering tools and utilities, including shared libraries and developer productivity components.
  • Assist in designing and improving self‑service provisioning workflows, enabling developers to deploy infrastructure more efficiently.
  • Learn and apply modern DevOps and platform engineering practices—such as immutable infrastructure, Git‑based workflows, and container-oriented patterns.
  • Actively engage in the two-year CODE Program, including participation in training, mentorship, networking events, and career development activities.
