About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate – Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering to join the Chief Technology Office (CTO), aligned to Technology Architecture and Engineering within IT Service Operations (ITSO). This role supports Technology Infrastructure Platform Management, with a focus on enabling and operating resilient, secure, and scalable cloud platforms across the enterprise. As an Engineering Associate, you will support a hybrid cloud environment spanning public cloud (Google Cloud Platform – GCP) and private cloud (OpenShift / OCP). This role is closely aligned with Enterprise AI initiatives, where GCP serves as the foundational platform for AI and GenAI workloads, and supports a broad portfolio of applications across lines of business. You will also participate in the Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program — a two‑year development program that runs alongside your full-time experience. CODE is designed for recent grads, coding bootcamp alumni and individuals with hands-on technical experience looking to break into tech. No four‑year degree is required. Requirements

  • 6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (GCP, AWS, or Azure) gained through coursework, projects, training, or hands on experience.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and command line tools.
  • Foundational understanding of containerization and orchestration concepts (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Exposure to at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Bash, or Go, through academic, project based, or professional experience.
  • Exposure to automation, monitoring, or observability concepts through coursework or projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, managing email and calendars in Outlook, and building presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Experience communicating technical issues or access-related concerns across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in academic or professional settings.
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field preferred but not required.
  • Google Cloud Certified – Associate Cloud Engineer or Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of a hybrid cloud environment across GCP and private cloud platforms (OCP) to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Develop and contribute to automation, AI/ML, and GenAI driven solutions that improve platform reliability, operational efficiency, and incident response.
  • Assist with deploying, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and defined engineering procedures.
  • Provide production engineering support, including troubleshooting application and platform issues, supporting incident resolution, and partnering with application teams.
  • Build and maintain Python program libraries, scripts, and pipelines to automate routine operational and engineering tasks.
  • Collaborate with teams supporting enterprise AI initiatives, data analytics platforms, and warehouse technologies.
  • Learn and apply best practices for cloud monitoring, observability, logging, and platform operations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately every six weeks) to support code or platform issues impacting production systems.
