YOUR IMPACT These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned: Assist with designing and testing simple mechanical systems under the guidance of engineers. Support small projects that improve manufacturing processes, customer experience, or product quality. Learn how to use computer-aided design (CAD) tools to review and update basic drawings. Help organize and track product changes using engineering systems. Update documents, such as bills of materials, to reflect design or product adjustments. Observe prototype builds on the assembly floor and provide support by taking notes and asking questions. Learn how engineers calculate things like weight balance, strength, or performance. Participate in team discussions with engineers, suppliers, and other departments to see how problems are solved. Assist in basic vehicle or component testing activities.

Requirements

  • Current high school student (junior or senior preferred).
  • Interest in mechanical design, engineering, or related fields.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Participation in STEM classes, robotics clubs, shop/tech classes, or other hands-on learning.
  • Interest in mechanical design, construction equipment, or problem-solving.
  • Exposure to CAD software (such as Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD) is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong mechanical curiosity and aptitude.
