About The Position

The Engineering Analyst (Part-time) will support the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract space program located in Huntsville, AL. This role involves hands-on technical work in support of on-going projects in various disciplines within NASA Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) under the supervision of more senior engineers. Opportunities can vary from performing analysis on existing flight hardware, assisting in the design and development of future hardware, and performing analysis for both completed and future launches. Requirements

  • US Citizenship.
  • High School or equivalent.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 0 years of recent and related work experience.
  • Ability to pass a national agency check.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and are required to participate in periodic random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
  • Be a team player with strong work ethics and be culture oriented.
  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
  • Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
  • Organized with good time management skills.
  • Able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract space program located in Huntsville, AL.
  • Perform hands-on technical work in support of on-going projects in various disciplines within NASA Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) under the supervision of our more senior engineers.
  • Perform basic engineering tasks related to design, analysis, test, integration and systems engineering.
  • Perform analysis on existing flight hardware.
  • Assist in the design and development of future hardware.
  • Perform analysis for both completed and future launches.
  • Activities can include but are not limited to: data analysis, analysis methodology improvement projects, software improvement projects, trade studies, Managing Quality and Project Records.
  • Support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments.
  • Spend time shadowing actual operations.
  • Have unique assignments that support larger projects.
  • Experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.
  • Other duties as assigned.
