About The Position

Our Employee Benefit Solutions Technology (EBST) organization powers the people, platforms and data behind our Group Insurance business. We’re looking for a full-time Software Engineer to join our Employer Data team within EBST, contributing to the evolution of our internally built STRATA system and the technology solutions that support key business outcomes. In this role, you’ll work as part of a highly collaborative agile team that values continuous learning, pair programming, and solving complex technical challenges. You’ll help build and enhance systems that are at the foundation of our Group insurance technology stack and directly impact business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience with: Java, JavaScript, Rest APIs, AWS, Spring, Vue
  • Technical aptitude & ambition to understand technology solutions and how those solutions integrate with other internal/external apps to support highly complex or customized Group insurance products.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills – highly comfortable contributing thoughts, ideas and questions in team settings.
  • Passion to dig deeper, continuously learn and improve technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and support of our Employer Data systems, enabling product definitions and client/plan configuration data under guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate within an agile team – participating in ceremonies, pair programming, and other collaborative engineering practices.
  • Build strong technical and product expertise, developing deep understanding of the data, systems, and business processes you support.
  • Ensure data security and integrity within all systems and solutions.
  • Contribute high-complexity enhancements to existing applications and help design and implement new solutions aligned to business needs.
  • Deliver high-quality code using modern engineering practices, including test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated deployment with GitHub.
