About The Position

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:   Responsible for minor repairs, installation, and maintenance of departmental equipment. Ensure the effective implementation of the GXP program. Monitor the hotel life safety systems and work closely with contractor to resolve any defects.   JOB REQUIREMENTS   Minimum lifting of 40lbs. Must be certified in a minimum of Type I & II refrigerants and possess a current certificate. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers. Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Use safe work practices and report all accidents and safety violations. Two years of hotel experience with an extended stay brand, or similar experience required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Perform and operate a preventative maintenance system on hotel equipment. Conduct routine repairs on all hotel equipment. Must have an understanding and working knowledge of equipment troubleshooting. Be familiar with the types of equipment in the hotel and its importance to the overall operation of the hotel. Must have knowledge in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, kitchen equipment, and laundry equipment. Must be able to read and understand operational manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints. Must understand water distribution systems, pumps, hydronics, and drainage systems. Must have knowledge of building electrical systems and electrical distributions systems Must know boiler operation, troubleshooting and repair. Must have knowledge of generator and fire pump operation. Must have knowledge and the ability to learn the hotels life safety systems. Conduct daily inspections of hotel Public and Back of House spaces, correct any defects as needed. Assist in providing building security, when needed. Respond to emergency and after hours calls and request in a timely manner. Train staff to perform basic functions such changing light bulbs, clearing plumbing blockages, and basic guest room door lock troubleshooting. Provide exceptional guest service at all times. Follow established procedures to prevent the spread of COVID or other infectious diseases. Respond to and resolve guest room defects as reported by the Housekeeping staff. Each associate is expected to complete, within their ability, all reasonable requests by management.
