About The Position

The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well-organized and safe hotels for our guests. This role contributes to achieving Happy Guests, Spotless Cleanliness, Product Consistency & Quality, and Teamwork. The Engineer is responsible for responding to all requests from guests for general repairs when requested, confirming and documenting completion through the electronic work order platform. They must ensure all room and public space Preventative Maintenance work is kept up to date and on schedule in accordance with the hotel provided PM Program. The Engineer also ensures all safety measures are followed in accordance with their approved work checklist, and that pool and spa areas follow area health codes. Reporting any emergency or life safety concerns to the immediate supervisor and General Manager is required, as is responding to emergency situations using information contained in Material Safety Data sheets. Full property walks must be conducted, at minimum, at the beginning and end of each scheduled shift, with any maintenance needs noted, documented and completed. All maintenance areas should be kept clean and well-organized during the shift and prior to departure.

  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based upon the demands of the hotel.

  • Ability to carry out physical working demands such as: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crawling, Standing, Walking, Repetitive Motions, Lifting (Ability to lift 50+ lbs.).

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, Trade or Vocational school degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of work-related experience in a commercial facility, hospitality or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • All Team Members work together to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Ability to handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Awareness and support for all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Understanding of relevant technology for each role.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Keep all areas, both front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed, to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
  • Always greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and at the designated times, every shift.
  • Ensure handover reports are accurate and on time, for effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed per the Team Member Handbook, while wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with Team Members.
  • Be willing to stretch beyond traditional role to meet the needs of the business and MCR’s guests.
  • Commit to working together to create a welcoming environment for guests and an effective, positive workplace.

  • Arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.
  • Never work while off the clock.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
