This Engineer position involves responding to guest repair requests and resolving maintenance issues through direct communication. Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance on various equipment such as tools, kitchen, and mechanical room machinery, including cleaning and lubrication. The role requires visual inspection of equipment, carrying necessary tools, and operating all shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities. The Engineer will maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts. Essential knowledge areas include air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Specific tasks include surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas. The Engineer will also test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclogging drains), electrical components (lamps, switches, outlets), cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, and internet devices, as well as programming TVs and performing engineering-related inventory duties. Adherence to the Lockout/Tagout system is required before maintenance work. The role also includes performing repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers, and utilizing basic computer skills for tasks like inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes. The position demands strict adherence to company safety and security policies, reporting maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries, completing safety training, and proper storage of flammable materials. Maintaining a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protecting company assets are crucial. The Engineer is expected to welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank them. Adherence to quality standards, developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and clear professional communication are also vital. Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 50 pounds without assistance (and heavier with assistance), moving up and down stairs, ramps, and ladders, and reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The role also requires using computers to enter and locate work-related information and performing other reasonable job duties as requested.
