In this vital role you will apply engineering expertise to optimize complex systems and processes, mentor peers, and drive operational excellence through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Demonstrate deep understanding of complex systems, equipment, and processes to support manufacturing excellence. Independently perform technical tasks with precision, ensuring high-quality outcomes and minimal errors. Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians, sharing best practices and technical insights. Lead reliability studies and process modeling to improve system performance and reduce downtime. Serve as a subject expert on GMPs and SOPs, guiding others in compliance and documentation. Collaborate multi-functionally to align priorities, define milestones, and coordinate execution. Manage small-scale projects or workstreams, ensuring timely delivery and customer alignment. Analyze performance data, identify trends, and apply root cause analysis to drive improvements. Build relationships across functions and share knowledge to support team and network success. Model a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning in alignment with Amgen values.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Engineering Support experience.
  • OR Associate’s degree and 6 years of Engineering Support experience.
  • OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Engineering Support experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a GMP-regulated environment within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries
  • Background in process characterization, validation, and monitoring
  • Basic working knowledge of process equipment design and performance evaluation
  • Familiarity with statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Willingness to work non-standard shifts (10–12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to solve technical problems in a production environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and applied engineering skills
  • Experience writing technical reports
  • Strong communication skills in Spanish and English (verbal and written)
