About The Position

The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well-organized and safe hotels for our guests, focusing on Happy Guests, Spotless Cleanliness, Product Consistency & Quality, and Teamwork. As an Engineer, you will contribute to guest satisfaction by greeting guests happily, using their names, and handling challenging situations with urgency. You will ensure spotless cleanliness by maintaining sparkling clean workspaces, pitching in for cleaning, and greeting guests while cleaning. Product consistency and quality are maintained through accurate completion of operational checklists and timely, accurate shift handover reports. Teamwork involves clear, honest, and professional communication, a 'can do' attitude, and collaboration to create a welcoming and effective workplace. Specifically, for the Engineer role, duties include responding to guest repair requests, confirming and documenting completion via an electronic work order platform, keeping room and public space preventative maintenance up to date, ensuring all safety measures are followed, and reporting emergency or life safety concerns. You will also conduct full property walks at the beginning and end of shifts, noting and completing any maintenance needs, and keeping all maintenance areas clean and well-organized.

  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based upon the demands of the hotel.
  • Ability to carry out physical working demands such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, standing, walking, repetitive motions, and lifting objects weighing 50+ lbs.
  • Read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, Trade or Vocational school degree.
  • At least 2 years of work-related experience in a commercial facility, hospitality or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • Contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Be aware and support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Understand relevant technology for each role.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Keep all areas, both front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed, to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
  • Greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and at the designated times, every shift.
  • Ensure handover reports are accurate and on time, for effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed per the Team Member Handbook, while wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with Team Members.
  • Stretch beyond traditional role to meet the needs of the business and MCR’s guests.
  • Work together with all Team Members at all levels to create a welcoming environment for guests and an effective, positive workplace.
  • Respond to all requests from guests for general repairs when requested.
  • Confirm and document completion of repairs through the electronic work order platform.
  • Keep all room and public space Preventative Maintenance work up to date and on schedule in accordance with the hotel provided PM Program.
  • Ensure all safety measures are followed in accordance with your approved work checklist.
  • Ensure that pool and spa follow area health codes.
  • Report any emergency or life safety concerns to your immediate supervisor and General Manager.
  • Respond to emergency situations using information contained in Material Safety Data sheets.
  • Conduct full property walks, at minimum, at the beginning and end of your scheduled shift.
  • Note, document, and complete any maintenance needs during property walks.
  • Keep all maintenance areas clean and well-organized during shift and prior to departure.
  • Arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.
  • Never work while off the clock.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
