About The Position

Act as the company liaison and technical support for Grid Technology. Project areas may include distributed energy resources (DER), distributed energy resource management system (DERMS), substation digitalization, advanced meter infrastructure (AMI), and advanced distribution management system (ADMS). The job will include working across a variety of business functions to initiate and develop projects as it relates to the technology of our utility systems. This role will also assess, create, and test new capabilities and standards of grid technology to be deployed across Power Delivery and Capital Projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (typically Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from a four-year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology (typically, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from a four-year accredited institution with PE may be considered.
  • Engineer II: 2+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Engineer III: 4+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Engineer Sr: 6+years experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Technical mastery of engineering principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.
  • Consistently drives for value in sound engineering decisions.
  • Mentors other engineers and technical professionals.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and standardize distributed energy resources integration, detailing how they are utilized and communicate.
  • Lead projects to optimize devices to SCADA solutions on distribution and transmission systems.
  • Responsible for technical development and support of advanced distribution management system and new technology.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the Grid Technology team.
  • Participate in routine, non-routine, and emergency storm and outage restoration duties.
