About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Leads and oversees commissioning activities for protective relays in substations. Develops and implements detailed commissioning plans, test procedures and documentation for capital projects and system upgrades. Analyzes system performance and relay operations, including fault event analysis, misoperation investigations and protection scheme validation. Provides expert technical support to field crews, contractors and operations teams during installation, energization and troubleshooting. Collaborates with design engineers to ensure protection schemes are accurately implemented and meet operational and regulatory requirements. Reviews and approves relay settings, coordination studies and system protection designs. Prepares and presents technical reports, compliance documentation and performance assessments to internal and external stakeholders. May mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance on commissioning practices, protection principles and field operations. Participate in strategic initiatives related to grid modernization, reliability improvement and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Major in Electrical Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
• Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in related area for Senior Engineer level
• Power system coursework preferred for electrical engineering majors.
• Utility experience preferred.
• Possess sound analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company.
• Ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision, in a team environment.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
• Ability to learn and utilize job specific software.

• Power system coursework preferred for electrical engineering majors.
• Utility experience preferred.
