About The Position

Inversion is a technology company that develops cutting-edge products and services to enable blockchain-driven business model transformations of legacy businesses. We pursue targeted acquisitions that leverage our blockchain technology to fundamentally transform business models, drive significant cost reductions, and achieve industry-leading profitability—all while maintaining operational continuity in core business functions. By strategically combining decentralized systems with our disciplined acquisition methodology, we disrupt traditional industries and build scalable, high-growth and profitable businesses. We are backed by top-tier investors in crypto and tech. Our team brings deep experience from leading financial institutions and a decade of investing in crypto and technology. We’re at an inflection point where crypto is no longer just experimental—it’s actionable. At Inversion, you'll be a pioneer in shaping how blockchain is used to create meaningful impact across industries and proving to the world that, like the Internet, crypto is a technology that most businesses will adopt to remain competitive. Learn more on our website and follow us on X and LinkedIn. We're looking for an engineer with fintech and payments experience to join our core engineering team. You'll design, build, and operate systems that transform legacy payment infrastructure across our portfolio of acquired businesses—replacing correspondent banking with stablecoin rails, building APIs that connect to core banking systems, and creating internal tools that power our acquisition and transformation process. This is a hands-on, full-stack role. You'll write code across the entire stack, evaluate legacy systems during technical due diligence, and own critical integrations end-to-end. You'll work at the intersection of traditional financial infrastructure and decentralized finance, building solutions that are reliable, scalable, and pragmatic.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years building payments, billing, or financial infrastructure systems
  • Fintech experience: You've worked at a modern fintech company that balances new technology with legacy banking system integration
  • Strong proficiency in full-stack development - comfortable building APIs, databases, and user interfaces
  • Experience with payment system design, including understanding of settlement, reconciliation, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to quickly understand and work with unfamiliar legacy systems and evaluate third-party infrastructure
  • Experience setting and maintaining engineering best practices: testing, code review, CI/CD, and incident management
  • Excellent communication skills - able to engage with business stakeholders and articulate technical trade-offs clearly

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience building on or integrating with blockchains and stablecoins
  • Background in technical due diligence or evaluating/integrating third-party systems
  • Experience with bank core system integrations (Plaid-style connectivity, direct APIs to banking platforms)
  • Deep knowledge of cross-border payments, FX settlement, or correspondent banking
  • Experience migrating or re-platforming legacy financial systems
  • Background in fast-paced, early-stage environments where you've worn multiple hats

Responsibilities

  • Design and build payment processing, settlement, and reconciliation systems that operate at scale across acquired businesses
  • Conduct technical due diligence on acquisition targets—evaluate their existing payment stacks, infrastructure dependencies, and integration requirements
  • Build full-stack tools and dashboards for internal operations, portfolio monitoring, and deal analysis
  • Own integrations with core banking systems (Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS) and modern payment rails (FedNow, SWIFT, stablecoin networks)
  • Develop proof-of-concepts that demonstrate how blockchain infrastructure can replace legacy correspondent banking
  • Write and review technical designs and production code; own system reliability, observability, and incident response
  • Collaborate across product, operations, legal, and business teams to ensure technical solutions meet regulatory and commercial requirements
  • Contribute technical insights to investment decisions and inform our technology roadmap

Benefits

  • Inversion offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary and discretionary bonuses.
  • The role provides significant potential for asymmetric upside, especially for individuals who are passionate about driving innovation in the blockchain and payments space.
