The Engineer - Nuclear Fuel position offers opportunities to learn the fundamental bases of nuclear power plant operations and safety analysis by applying state-of-the-art nuclear and thermal hydraulics methods to satisfy licensing requirements and address real day-to-day plant issues. Additionally, this position has direct utility customer-facing opportunities through deliverables, collaboration, and training. The Engineer - Nuclear Fuel will be part of the team responsible for BWR Nuclear Fuel reload licensing and cycle management in Global Nuclear Fuels (GNF). In this role you will provide innovative licensing and design solutions that ensure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, physics, or other science field from an accredited college or university
  • This job will be located at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. (Relocation assistance provided)
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly learn and apply analytical methods, procedures, and techniques to solve problems
  • Execute analysis and design calculations to support operating reactor cores in reload licensing and cycle management
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Implement continual improvement of work processes
  • Share information and promote open dialogue, including working effectively in a matrixed team environment
  • Partner with Commercial Account Managers (CAMs), interface with customer technical personnel, and manage reload projects across the fuel's organization
