What You Will Do: We have an excellent opportunity for a Engineer-in-Training – Traffic for our Public Infrastructure department. The successful candidate will assist senior staff on a variety of engineering projects including, but not limited to: traffic and safety analysis; development of conceptual and final design plans; development of pavement marking, signage, and signal plans, technical specifications, and estimates; design and feasibility reports; field data collection; and proposal and presentation assistance. The successful candidate will work closely with other civil engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering
- Relevant internship or 1-4 years’ experience of progressive responsibility in Traffic Engineering.
- Recent grads considered.
- EIT preferred
- Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across multiple projects and deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment, and experience to define, analyze, and resolve issues
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AutoCAD and Synchro preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office, HCS, and Vissim a plus
- Familiarity MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and AASHTO a plus
- Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus
Responsibilities
