Candidates must have previous hotel engineering experience covering HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen, and general building construction. Vocational training, an associate's degree, certification, or an apprenticeship in a relevant area, along with state certification or licensure where required, are essential. The ability to understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems, as well as read blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns, is necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills, a high work ethic, and self-initiative are also required.
