  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Master’s degree or PhD with 1-2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Relevant experience includes downstream bioprocessing, purification development, bioprocess engineering, or manufacturing support in biopharmaceutical environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with downstream purification operations, including: Column chromatography (e.g., Protein A, ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction) Ultrafiltration/diafiltration
  • Extensive experience working with AKTA chromatography systems and UNICORN software (method development, execution, and data analysis).
  • Solid understanding of downstream process principles and the ability to interpret purification performance and process trends.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize experimental data using appropriate statistical and scientific approaches.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality, data integrity, and standard procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge or experience applying mechanistic modeling, data-driven modeling, or machine learning approaches to bioprocess analysis or optimization.
  • Familiarity with DOE-based study design and multivariate data analysis.
  • Exposure to process scale-up, implementation, or technology transfer activities.
  • Experience supporting technical discussions with external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute downstream experiments supporting purification process evaluation and optimization, with emphasis on chromatography and UF/DF operations.
  • Develop, optimize, and execute AKTA-based chromatography methods, including creation and modification of UNICORN control and analysis methods.
  • Evaluate process performance using experimental data to identify trends, sensitivities, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support activities related to process scale-up, implementation, and transfer through well-documented experimental execution and data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot downstream unit operations, equipment, and workflows, applying sound engineering and scientific principles.
  • Prepare technical documentation including experimental plans, protocols, reports, and presentations.
