About The Position

Our Engineer II team members help to maintain guestrooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas in good repair to ensure an attractive and well‑maintained property. This role involves a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall repair and texturing, wall coverings, screen repair, and masonry. Engineer II’s must also understand and troubleshoot basic commercial electrical components and wiring, read schematics, use multimeters, and diagnose mechanical and basic HVAC systems such as heat pumps, FCUs, VAV units, heaters, residential appliances, motors, pumps, and VFDs. Requirements

  • 3+ Years Related Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades to visually inspect and detect items needing repair.
  • Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electric tools).
  • Possess Intermediate electrical and mechanical working knowledge and skills.
  • Basic English language communication in order to communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments.
  • Ability to understand and be able to isolate water features pumps and systems if necessary.
  • Ability to assess and communicate maintenance related issues with team members and leaders effectively.
  • Able to use current technology for workplace efficiency and communication.
  • Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 40 feet, for extended periods of time, with the ability to reach, often times overhead.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally waist high.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of moderately complex and simple maintenance tasks involving the upkeep of all facilities, units, and amenities of the property according to HGV standards, and maintains all guestroom and public space equipment (to include, but not limited to the following):
  • Change filter
  • Replace caulk
  • Tile/Grout
  • Repair to include locking mechanisms and hinges
  • Inspects rooms for pest intrusion
  • Inspects and replaces cosmetic appliance components
  • Replace light bulbs and ballasts
  • Repair closet/drapery tracks
  • Replacement of furniture
  • Stain furniture and repair knicks and gouges
  • Replace remote control batteries
  • Unclog toilets and sinks
  • Touch-up paint
  • Glue peeling wallpaper
  • Execute planned scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Replaces faulty plumbing components.
  • Maintain proper functioning of all equipment and tools.
  • Maintain detailed records, logs and inspection sheets.
  • Establishes a clear line of communication with the engineering leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
