Automotive Technician / Mechanic – Responsibilities Perform thorough inspections of vehicles to diagnose engine, drivetrain, electrical, or mechanical issues. Repair or replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components to ensure safe and reliable vehicle operation. Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid exchanges, and manufacturer-recommended services. Adjust, calibrate, and align components—including sensors, suspension, and steering—to manufacturer specifications. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and technology to identify and resolve vehicle issues efficiently. Test-drive repaired vehicles to verify proper operation and ensure quality control. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient shop operations. Document all work performed, diagnostics, and parts used to support accurate repair and service records. Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet safety, performance, and quality standards. Communicate mechanical issues and required repairs clearly and in non-technical terms to service advisors or supervisors. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex automotive issues and support workflow efficiency. Continuously learn new repair techniques and keep up with rapidly changing automotive technology through training and certification programs. Supply and maintain your primary personal tools; the shop will provide major shop equipment and specialty tools. Primary job focus is automotive, but could and will be assigned other jobs as needed to help the engineering team as designated.
