As an Engineer in our Engineering Department, you'll be part of a team managing heavy civil capital construction projects, reviewing private development projects, executing annual service, maintenance and emergency response contracts, all while interacting with a team of dedicated professionals both internal and external to the City. From inception to construction, you will play a crucial role in turning conceptual plans into tangible and successful construction projects, driving progress, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Requirements

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field. For Engineer I, four years of relevant full-time experience will be assessed in lieu of a bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Engineer I: No experience required for applicants who possess a bachelor's degree; non-degreed applicants must have two years of experience in addition to the degree equivalency.
Engineer II: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
Engineer III: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of five years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
