This position is part of the Capital Projects Engineering team. The Engineer I/II contributes as a core team member while building practical engineering experience, supporting senior engineers throughout project execution. The role supports new construction and renovation of manufacturing facilities, including the design, budgeting, procurement, construction, and commissioning of hygienic pharmaceutical equipment and systems. Responsibilities include assisting with process and instrument flow diagrams, developing equipment specifications, creating CAD designs (including 3D modeling), preparing bid packages, evaluating vendor proposals, and supporting construction and installation activities. The engineer will also assist with equipment startup, commissioning, and provide documentation and technical support to validation teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • BS or MS in Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of experience (Engineer I)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Engineer II)
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience (Engineer II)
  • At least 2 years of Biotech or Chemical industry experience (GMP experience preferred) (Engineer II)

Nice To Haves

  • Biotech-related coursework is a plus.
  • Plasma or protein processing knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with hygienic stainless-steel welding is beneficial.
  • Hands-on technical experience (fabrication, mechanics, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or Plant 3D is preferred.
  • Internship or other hands-on experience in a plant or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine engineering tasks using foundational engineering principles.
  • Complete small projects or assignments with limited scope under supervision.
  • Communicate project updates and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Prepare plans, designs (including 3D models), calculations, and cost estimates with oversight.
  • Interpret engineering standards and apply sound engineering judgment to solve routine problems.
  • Provide basic technical support with defined responsibility and accountability.
  • Apply engineering expertise to develop solutions for production or project-related challenges.
