About The Position

The Facility Engineer I is responsible for managing and overseeing the utility systems at our battery manufacturing plant. This includes managing critical infrastructure such as electrical, water, air systems, steam, gases, building automation and HVAC in order to ensure their optimal performance support production processes. The role requires technical expertise to guide a team of utility technicians, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that all utilities meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in an Engineering discipline required
  • Experience and knowledge in OSHA, NFPA and EPA
  • Understanding and experience of common trade practices and codes in mechanical and electrical systems
  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize common and specialized PPE for periods of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to do the following repeatedly for a period of up to 12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including professional and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • High degree of initiative, with the ability to work alone and effectively with other people and teams
  • Practical knowledge in utility and production process

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the functions, maintenance and repair of all utility systems such as electricity, water, gas and steam
  • Support other Facilities team members in interactions with Production Technology engineering and manufacturing to effectively avoid unplanned maintenance downtime
  • Assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving
  • Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks
  • Record & keep all documents related to preventive maintenance and troubleshooting work in CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
  • Select and coordinate with contractors and vendors for building repairs, modifications, and new construction projects
  • Coordinate maintenance work requests and purchase the necessary tools and materials
  • Communicate directly with production departments to coordinate preventative maintenance and any troubleshooting within in the plant
  • Maintain worksite in accordance with Lean Manufacturing, 5S and 3R standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
