About The Position

The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering (ATE) organization is looking for a motivated individual with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science to support the Melbourne Boundary Scan and Structural Test Engineering team. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development and maintenance of manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit, as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop Boundary Scan test software and hardware for Avionics products spanning new product initiatives and supporting existing deployed solutions. Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager. Position will be located in Melbourne, Florida and will be classified as onsite

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with test equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of IEEE 1149.1 (JTAG)
  • Experience with Boundary Scan tools, including ASSET Intertech Scanworks, JTAG Tech, XJTAG
  • Familiarity with programmable parts, such as flash memory, CPLDs, and FPGAs
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document Boundary Scan production test solutions for Avionics products
  • Design test hardware, including fixtures, cabling and circuit cards
  • Lead test software design reviews and ensure the generation of appropriate design documentation
  • Prepare and present project and/or technical information to peers, internal management, and customers
  • Coordinate and facilitate the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuring work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved
