About The Position

The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering team responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing test solutions. These solutions support our $5B Avionics strategic business and external customers, including armed services and airlines, both domestic and international. We are seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing test equipment hardware to support production acceptance testing of power supplies. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by designing, integrating, and delivering test solutions that meet program requirements.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in using Siemens Xpedition for electronic design and simulation
  • Familiarity with the Collins PTS-200 test system
  • Familiarity with designing and integrating circuit cards, test fixtures, and/or cables.
  • Experience with analog and power circuit design
  • Experience in designing test equipment for avionics systems or power supplies.
  • Knowledge of production acceptance testing processes and requirements.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design circuit card assemblies (CCAs), test fixtures, and cables for production acceptance testing of avionics power supplies.
  • Develop detailed design specifications and schematics to meet project needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware designs meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Support the ordering and assembly of test hardware.
  • Support hardware/software integration and debug activities.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the development lifecycle, including bids, design reviews, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of designs, processes, and test procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and RTX quality guidelines.
