We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our fast paced, diverse, and safety centric team. You would be responsible for mechatronic system design, integration and technical support for our diverse customer base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering;
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or in electrical engineering;
  • Coursework or experience in electrical machines, motion control, automation, robotics and mechatronics, AC servo motors, stepper motors, programming with motion control, network communication, mechatronic system, and website design (front/back end).

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of sophisticated engineering design automation tools.
  • Provides the sales team and customers with technical support on all Hiwin electrical products (motors, drives, controllers, and Robot operating systems);
  • Tests new products developed at our global headquarters in Taiwan including motors, drives and controllers;
  • Assesses compatibility of 3rd party drives and controllers with Hiwin electric motors. This includes testing, qualifying, and documenting such 3rd party products;
  • Performs engineering sizing calculations for mechatronic systems, including AC servo and direct drive motors, single axis and multi-axis motion systems, stepper motors, servo drives and controls, fieldbus communication, etc., in accordance with customer specifications;
  • Participates in the development of automated mechatronic system sizing tools, including development of equations of motion, motor and drive mathematical models, programming support, database table development, and web user interface design;
  • Meets with customers to review product requirements, training, and troubleshooting on product design and function;
  • Documents project information for the successful completion of each job. Maintains engineering files containing customer criteria and specifications, schematics, block diagrams, wiring documentation, etc.;
  • Tests and tunes motors, drives and controllers to validate performance to customer specifications; Participates in product and project review meetings.
  • Provides input pertaining to product design, system architecture and component selection.
